It binds to oxygen in the lungs and releases it in tissues.

Engulf and destroy pathogens.
How are platelets activated?
By damaged blood vessels.
What is carried in plasma besides nutrients and hormones?
Waste products like carbon dioxide and urea.
Why are red blood cells biconcave in shape?
To increase the surface area for oxygen diffusion.
