What are some danger areas for aviation?
Intakes Exhaust Flight controls Compressed gases Cryogenics, Explosives, Hazmat, eye, and hearing dangers
Where does Aircraft static grounding discharge electricity to?
Harmlessly to the earth or deck
What are the grounding procedures?
First hook up a grounding strap to a certified static ground and then to the aircraft grounding receptacle.
Why is Windshield static grounding necessary?
Because during flight a high voltage (100,000 volts) static electrical charge may build up and be stored in the windshield
What tie down is used up to 45 knots initial tie down?
A minimum of 6 chains are required and is used prior to, in between or immediately after flight.
What tie down is used for up to 45 knots normal weather.
9 chains required.
What tie down is required for 45 to 60 knots moderate weather?
14 chains required
What tie down is required for above 60 knots Heavy weather?
20 chains required
Towing speeds shall not exceed what?
5 mph or the speed of the slowest walker
The movement of aircraft is accomplished by what?
A team of 6 to 10 personnel with each person being assigned a specific task.
Move director
Responsible for assembling the move crew, ensuring proper equals, pre move brief, emphasis on safety
Brake Rider
Conducts a pre move inspection of brake System and aircraft to sure it is mechanically sound and ready.
Chock Walker
Responsible for removing, carrying and installing the wheel chocks.
Safety observers
Ensure that the aircraft is ready to be towed and that there is ample clearance of the aircraft. Positioned at wing tips and tail.
Tractor Driver
Responsible for the safe and slow movement of the aircraft from hook up to the final parking spot.
