When are males fertile and why?
Males are always fertile; they have a constant level of pituitary hormones. Resulting in a steady concentration of testosterone and sperm being produced.
When are females fertile and why is this?
Female fertility is a cycle, with the fertile period being 1-2 days following ovulation.
What can be used to measure a females fertile period?
Indicators such as temperature after ovulation; change in cervical mucus; hormone levels.
How can a woman be infertile due to hormones?
Failure to produce enough FSH or LH can cause fertility issues.
How can a woman who is failing to ovulate be treated?
Ovulation can be stimulated by drugs; that contain hormones that can replicate FSH and LH; Drugs that prevent the negative feedback effect of oestrogen on FSH secretion.
