a tapeworm absorbs nutrients through it’s body’s surface. Ascaris has a cuticle to resist digestion by it’s host so it needs a digestive tract inside its body.
why does an earthworm need a muscular digestive tract and an ascaris doesn’t
ascaris is parasitic and can feed on food from the host thats already been digested. earthworms eat soil particles that need more work to be broken down.
