Anaerobic respiration of
1) plant products
2) waste material containing carbohydrates

Bacteria/yeast breaking down material by anaerobic respiration

1) greener as they’re carbon neutral
2) doesn’t produce sulphur dioxide
3) burning prevents release of methane (as methane is given off by untreated waste)
4) digested material can be used as fertiliser
