Bio Stuff Part 2 Flashcards
What are the different outer parts of a cell?
Plasma membrane, phospholipids, and the liposome
genetic trait
any inherited characteristic (from a family member or something) that can be observed or detected
invariant traits
Traits that are all the same within an animal (ex: four legs, one head, two arms, two eyes)
variant traits
Traits that are different within a species, this is probably based on the family genes (ex: color of fur, eye color, arm length, height, etc.)
What are the different types of genetic traits?
physical traits, biochemical traits, and behavioral traits
physical traits
These are traits shown through the physical aspects of one’s appearance. For example, fur color, eye color, height, and anything that is easily observable
biochemical traits
These are traits hidden within a being but are still measurable. For example, susceptibility to a disease, with experiments this can be measureable
behavioral traits
behaviors with some genetic basis (ex: shyness, outgoing, easier to get angry)
