First Amendment
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech and press
Can petition the government for a redress of grievances
Second Amendment
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free stares, the right of the people to keep and bare arms, shall not be infringed
Fourth Amendment
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreadable searches and or seizures(no searches will occur without a warrant)
Fifth Amendment
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury
Nor shall a person be subject to be accused twice of the same offense
A witness doesn’t need to be against himself
Private property will not be taken for public use unless with just compensation
Sixth Amendment
Accused shall enjoy a speedy and public trial
Trial must be in the same state the crime was committed.
Government will provide the accused with a lawyer
Seventh Amendment
In suite at common law, where the value in the controversy shall exceed 20 dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved
Third Amendment
No solider shall, in time of peace be quarter d in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war
Eight Amendment
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusually punishments be inflicted
Ninth Amendment
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people
Tenth Amendment
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibitive by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or the people
Thirteenth Amendment
Ends slavery throughout the United States
Has a loophole that makes southerns happy.
Fourteenth Amendment
Every person born in the US was guaranteed citizenship
Fifteenth Amendment
Don’t have the right to take away someone’s citizenship, not matter their race.
