how does the old testament use plot, character, and narrative to tell us whats happening?
the plot tells us what the story is about and the characters carry special details of whats going to happen and narrative keeps everything in order of when things happened and what they mean and how the characters are affected by what happened.

what is a Kinsmen Redeemer?
the closest mae relative that has to mary the widow in order to redeem the OG fathers land and has to pay all debts to carry on the family line.
what is Gleening.
Farmers have to leave the edges of their crops to the homeless, for them to gather.
what is the year of Jubilee?
it the 1 day of the year where everyone in the town is invited to a party and at that party all debts are forgiven and all land that has been “barrowed” is given back.
what is the cycle that we see between Israel and God?
Israel sins, Oppresion, repentance, judges, peace in the land.
what does Oppresion mean?
God sends people groups to attack Isreal.
what was Unique about Ehud? What was his story?
Ehud was left handed. the gaurds didn’t check his left leg for a sword, so he killed King Eglon, King of Moab. Ehud Gathered an Army of 10,000 men to battle at the Jordan River. He won and brought peace to Isreal for 80 years.
who was Othniel?
First Judge. killed the king of mesopotamia, brought peace to isreal for 40 yrs.
who was Deborah?
Prophetess/ Judge. first/only female judge. asked to lead the army to victory, prophicided that “a women will win the honor of the battle” and that it wasnt her. battle of the Kishon River. king Sersi and his men got scared and killed eachother, sersi ran and a women named Joel killed him.
who was Gideon?
scrawny man that feared and didn’t trust god. was chosen to be a judge a tested God by telling him to make the wet flees dry and the dry ground wet Vice-Versa, then God tested him by degrading the # of men and still won the battle.
why did god degrade the # of men in Gideons Army?
He didn’t want Israel to Boast and brag about winning.
who was jepthtah?
Judge. mighty worrier, made an unasked vow to god “ Give the ammonites over to my hands and whatever the first thing that comes out of my household to great me from my vistory in battle, I will give to you as a burnt sacrifice”
what was the first thing that came to greet Jepthtah from battle?
his daughter.
who was samson?
a judge chosen by god. his loyalty to god was shown in his hair. if he cuts his hair or disonners God
