What are daily boat checks?
Checks completed everyday to ensure the Bravo readiness of the vessel. If something is missing or not Sat, the OOD should be notified immediately.
Where do you locate the requirements for minimum equipment to be carried aboard boats?
That information is contained in the boat type operator’s handbook.
What are the responsibilities for embarking passengers and guests?
Passengers may no exceed the maximum safe number of the boat type
All passengers must wear PFDs
Passengers shall be disembarked for missions, if possible.
Coast Guard members onboard non-Coast Guard boats shall were the required PPE>

Shall be conducted every 30 minutes, or sooner if higher risk exists.
Initiate lost comms 10 minutes passed the scheduled position report
- Notify head unit and send out message.
- No position report needed when in contact with the OSC, when directed radio silence, and during surf operations.

What are effective team communications?
- All members understand the plan
- All members back each other up
- Proper delegation of tasks.

- BCCS is required for Security Zone Enforcement or during times of interfering noise.

What are the guidelines for Public Affairs Operations?

What are the requirements for Trailered / Beach Operations?
- Units shall maintain one ready vehicle available to tow the assigned boat within regulations.
- Area/District Boat Managers will develop procedures for trailering boats and conducting beach operations.
- Units will not usually undertake beach operations alone. Agency responsibilities must be established in writing.
Personal Watercraft policy
- Procurement and use must be authorized by the Deputy Commandant of Operations.
Surface Swimmer Policy
- Must comply with applicable references
- Should only be exercised when:
- No other method exists
- Appropriately asses risks
- Must not unduly place the swimmers life at risk
What is the role of the Boat Forces Advisory Council?
- Ensure the requirements of Boat Forces units are recognized.
- Serve as conduit between the field and program level.
