Now, everybody. I don’t want you to touch your drinks yet. Not till I say. (She hands the drinks round ‘There we are, there’s yours etc. …’) There is no drink for Vera.

Vera
Er – mine was a – er – port an’ lemon, Betty.

Betty
Ah – now I can’t find the lemonade, Vera. Would you have somethin’ else in your port?

Vera
Anythin’, Betty.

Betty
Right. Just hold on a minute and I’ll get it for you. Now. (She grabs the vibrator from its place and holds it up.)
Who’s going to be first? Reeny? (She takes Reeny’s drink and plunges the vibrator in. Smiling.)
I’ll say one thing for that feller of yours, Vera – when he buys a present, he knows what to get to please a lady!

Oh – did Tommy get you that?
Ted
I’m just wonderin’ what it reminds me of.
Reeny
Ted! (With a slight laugh.)Don’t be filthy.
Ted
Who’s being filthy? That’s just your dirty mind.
Reeny
(offended)Dirty mind! I beg your pardon. Don’t you insult me in public or we’ll go home now.

(finishing the mixing and putting the ‘mixer’ back)Now now, Reen. Ted’s only havin’ a laugh. Let’s not have any arguments. Let’s have your coat an’ you can settle down with your drink.
