Criteria (LGL)
Criteria records evaluate patient-specific data such as medications, diagnoses, and past procedures.
They then include / exclude the patient based on whether the data is found in their chart.
Base (LGL)
Base (BPA) records are the substructure of BestPractice Advisory build.
In other words, they are the foundation upon which the remainder of the build rests.
The main thing that is done from within a base record is linking to criteria records.
Alert (ALT)
An Alert (ALT) record is created every time a BPA triggers for a specific patient contact (such as an office visit or an admission).
ALT records include:
Which BPA record triggered it, which patient it was triggered for, which user it triggered for, what action was used to trigger it (ex: signing orders), any follow up actions that were taken, any acknowledge reasons that were selected
