Orbital cavernous hemangioma- what is it?
A collection of small blood vessels surrounded by a fibrous pseudo capsule.
*Large vascular spaces are within the mass, thus the term cavernous.

Women > men
Dx between ages 30-50
Orbital cavernous hemangioma- unilateral or bilateral
Unilateral
Orbital cavernous hemangioma- symptoms
Bulging or displaced eye. Double vision
Orbital cavernous hemangioma- signs
Proptosis, globe displacement, restricted EOMs
Complications
Compression on the globe and/or ON
Thrombosis
Management
Orbital CT or MRI
If symptomatic or complications, refer out for complete surgical excision.

Abnormally enlarged vein that becomes dilated with increased venous pressure- during valsalva maneuvers, bending forward, or holding breath.
