CERVICAL ECTROPION
A
- normal finding in younger women especially if pregnant or on COCP.
- normally asymptomatic but occassionally vaginal discharge/post-coital bleeding
- Erythema around cervical os
- Tx: Cryotherapy after carcinoma excluded
- Complications: Infection

CERVICITIS:
- Acute
- Chronic

- Acute:
- Causes: STI, severe prolapse - Chronic:
- usually inflammation/infection of an ectropion
- vaginal discharge, inflammatory smears
- Tx: Cryotherapy with/without antibiotics based on bacterial culture

CERVICAL POLYP
A
- Most common >40y
- Usually asymptomatic
- <1cm
- Can cause intermenstrual bleeding or post-coital bleeding - Tx: Avulsion of small polyps without anaesthetic. Can use Silver nitrate
- Histological examination of tissue and appropriate investigations for bleeding

NABOTHIAN FOLLICLES
A
- White/opaque swellings on ectocervix
- No treatment required unless symptomatic(rare)
