MAIN OBJECTIVE
To reduce maternal and neonatal mortality,
and to strengthen the capacity of nurses and
midwives in maternal and newborn care to
adequately and appropriately respond to
pregnancy-related complications

→ managing common complications (eg.
infections, postpartum hemorrhage) -
interventions (eg. administering essential
medications, assisted vaginal delivery)
→ Typically delivered at primary healthcare
facilities
