Enhanced control - let patient choose what they want done first - make them think they in control

Behaviour shaping - smiles, positive voices and reinforcement

A

Unwilling to cooperate / do not consent

Unaccompanied pts

ASAIII+ in secondary care only

Severe learning difficulties - pt must understand sedation for it to be beneficial

Severe MSK disorders

COPD

Severe psychiatric disorders

Thyroid dysfunction

Pregnancy and lactation

Blocked airway (IS)

Hepatic insufficiency and BZDP allergy (IVS)
