Environment checks- tubes, IV, foley
Three point check: ABC- hands off, observations only
Is the patient awake

What is the five point check: ABCDE assessment
A- airway
B- breathing rate and pattern
C- circulation: HR, BP, pulses, skin colour/temp
D- disability- neuro status, weakness, pupil size
E- exposure: temperature, rashes, trauma
What is PERRLA
Pupils are equal, round and reactive to light and accommodation
What are some environmental safety protocols?
Bed rails up?
Fall assessment completed?
Suction at bedside?
Ambu bag at bedside?
Extra supplies? (Trachs, dressings)
