Barricaded Subject Plan Flashcards
A subject who is believed to have been involved in a criminal act or is a significant threat to themselves or safety of others; refused to submit to arrest and may be armed; is in a position of advantage, affording cover and concealment; or is contained in an open area, and the presence or approach of police officers could precipitate an adverse reaction by the subject.
Barricaded subject/incident
A suicidal person who is threatening to take their own life. This may involve a suicidal person, armed with a deadly weapon, capable of causing injury to others, who is a demonstrated threat to others, barricaded in a structure or in an open area, therefore, an incident involving an armed subject is a barricade incident.
Suicidal subject/incident
A team tasked with communicating and negotiating with the subject consisting of:
- Primary negotiator
- Secondary negotiator
- Intelligence officer(s)
- Scribe
- Intelligence coordinator
- SWAT logistics coordinator (SLC)
Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT)
Those units assigned to the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) section including support units attached to SWAT during a tactical operation.
SWAT Team
A secure, designated location where the Patrol Division supervisors operate. It consists of patrol supervisor, fire and medical personnel, and the public information officer (PIO).
Incident Command Post (ICP)
A secured, centralized location where SWAT Team supervisors, Crisis Negotiation Team, patrol liaison, and an investigative Services Division (ISD) representative control tactical operations and coordinate negotiations.
Tactical Operations Center (TOC)
The _____ _____ supervisor will be command of police operations in a barricade situation. The _____ supervisor will also retain command of the ICP, staging area, secondary perimeter, and other police operations.
