Why are patients with BO regularly monitored by endoscopy?
BO is a risk factor for developing oesophageal adenocarcinoma
What medication can be used in the treatment of BO?
PPI i.e. omeprazole
1) How can ablation treatment during endoscopy be used in the management of BO?
2) In which group of patients is this not recommended in?
1) Can destroy the pathological epithelium so that it is replaced with normal cells
2) Patients without dysplasia
If there’s high grade dysplasia on the biopsy of a patient with Barrett’s oesophagus, how is it managed?
Endoscopic mucosal resection
