free recall test- had to recall the courses they did and they grades they achieved for them
cued recall test- given a copy of their courses but had to recall the grades that they got for them

people who achieved higher grades were more likely to accurately recall the grades that they got, when people did make mistakes they generally gave themselves a higher grade than what they actually got
