A

If the serving player has an even number of points they serve from the right side of the court and if they get a point their next serve is from the left side. The server continues to alternated service counts until he/she commits a fault

  1. The shuttle falls out of bounds, or fails to make it over the net, or touched the roof of sidewalks, or touches a person or their clothing.
  2. A player reaches over the net to play the shuttle. (It is however legal for a player to follow-through over the net on a stroke.)
  3. A player obstructs an opponent.
  4. A player touches the net while the bird is in play.
  5. The shuttle is hit twice in Succession by the same player or hit more than once on the same side.
  6. The shuttle is scooped or held by the racquet.
