- GI/resp/CNS symptoms are common
- Can result in sudden catastrophic shock

- Descending paralysis
- Common ptosis
- Slurred speech
- May appear to be intoxicated but no cognitive impairment

What can be done to reduce harm to those who inject drugs?
A
- Increased health promotion
- Increased education of patients
- Increased BBV testing
- Make sure that harm reduction/IEP is robust
- Advocate for addiction services
- Develop services that address heal inequalities
- Take treatment to the patients
