Medial (proximal) – medial 1/3 of superior nuchal line and external protuberance of occipitalis, nuchal ligament and SPs of C7-T12

Lateral (distal) – Lateral 1/3 of clavicle, acromion and spine of scapula

- Spinal root of Accessory Cranial Root CN XI
- Cervical Nerve (C3-4) for pain and proprioception
Trapezius: A
Superior fibers: elevates scapula
Middle fibers: retracts scapula
Inferior fibers: depresses scapula
Superior & inferior: rotates scapula
Latissimus Dorsi: O
SPs T7-12; Thoraco-lumbar Fascia; Iliac Crest and inferior 3 or 4 ribs
Latissimus Dorsi: I
Floor of Intertubercular Groove of Humerus
Latissimus Dorsi: N
Thoraco-dorsal nerve (C6-7-8)
Latissimus Dorsi: A
- Extends, adducts and medially rotates Humerous
- Raises body towards arms during climbing
Levator Scapula: O
Posterior Tubercles of TVPs of C1-4
Levator Scapula: I
Superior part of medial border of scapula
Levator Scapula: N
Dorsal scapular nerve C5 and cervical nerves (C3-4)
Levator Scapula: A
Elevates scapula and tilts Glenoid Cavity inferiorly by rotating scapula
Rhomboid Minor: O
Nuchal ligament of SPs of C7 and T1
Rhomboid Minor:I
Medial Angle of Scapula
Rhomboid Minor: N
