What are the cold weather taxi procedures?
Landing?
When OAT is 3°C or below:
NG - Taxi - Recommend 70% N1 for up to 30 seconds every 30 minutes.
NG - Takeoff - Must run up to 70% N1 prior to brake release.
MAX - Taxi - Recommend 50% N1 for up to 30 seconds every 60 minutes.
MAX - Takeoff - Must run up to 50% N1 for a minimum of 5 seconds.
Check crosswind limits for braking action less than good.
What are the single engine approach recommendations?
- Fly base and final at flaps 5 and speed 170 knots
At 1/2 dot on the glideslope - Gear down
- Landing checklist
- Flaps 15
- Speed flaps 15 target
Power
- Level flight - 80% N1
- On glideslope - 70% N1
What is the single engine go-around procedure?
- TOGA, flaps 1, check thrust
- Positive rate, gear up, set missed approach altitude
- 400 feet AGL - Heading select
- 800 feet AGL - Set CMS
- At CMS - Set max continuous thrust, autopilot on
What are the non-precision approach recommendations?
L - Lateral (LNAV, LOC)
A - Altitude (Set touchdown)
V - Vertical (VNAV, V/S)
S - Speed
When should you consult the Short Field or Contaminated Runway Landing Procedure?
When available runway length is less than 7500 feet or when braking action is expected to require most of the available runway.
When is TOGA available?
Inflight below 2000 feet RA.
