Autotrophs obtain their food from consuming living things - TRUE or FALSE?
FALSE -it is capable making its own food by capturing energy from sunlight or chemicals. (Example: Plants)
What are heterotrophs, and what do they do?
They are organisms that obtain their food from hunting down other organisms. (also called a consumer) Example: Animals and Humans!
Are decomposers known for breaking down dead organic matter in order to obtain energy?
Yes they do! An example of a decomposer are mushrooms and bacteria.
Carnivore
Organisms that gain energy from eating MEAT.
Omnivore - Hint, bears and humans are categorize as this ;)
An organism that obtains energy from eating BOTH PLANTS and MEAT
What is an herbivore, and what to they like consuming?
An herbivore is an organism that only gains full energy from eating ONLY PLANTS. (Example: Deer, mice, and cows.)
What do scavengers do?
They consume the remains of other animals. An example of this would be a turkey vulture, fox, and BEARS. >:)
