Called Vinea Wachau or Codex Wachau

It’s based on ripeness at harvest and has 3 levels, listed in order of increasing ripeness:

Steinfeder, named for a local feathery grass
Federspiel, an ancient term for a tool used in falconry
Smaragd, named for green lizards in the vineyard

Who is are the key producers of Kamptal? Can you tell me anything about them?

A

Schloss Gobelsburg! They’ve got the oldest vineyards in Austria, dating back to before 1200. They make pristine riesling using traditional methods & organic viticulture and excellent gruner.

& Bründlmayer! They make beautiful riesling, gruner, sparkling, & other wines, and started an historic catalogue of their best wines in their 700 year old cellar in the 1940s.
