August 2nd 2017 Flashcards
List the electromagnetic spectrum, + descriptions and What they do
Gamma- bursts of nucleus, destroys cancer cells
X Ray- fast moving electrons, view through flesh to see bones
Ultra violet - short waves over production of vitamin D, crime scenes, tanning
Visible light
Infrared- heat waves, warmer = more infrared waves it Edmond, remote control
Microwave- shorter than radio waves, microwave, telecommunication
Radio wave-longest wave= low frequency, tv, radios
Fm vs Am
Fm better sound, less range
Refraction
Medium with higher density- towards normal
Medium with low density- away normal
Transverse and compression
Transverse- medium moves up and down (light energy)
Compression/ longitudinal- medium moves back and forth (sound energy)
Frequency
Wave that is the number of repetitive motion that occurs in a given time. Measures in hertz/ cycles per second
Wave / wavelength
A disturbance that transfers energy thro matters of space, without any permanent displacement
Light moves through air without moving air
Crest to crest
How many chromosomes, pairs
46, 23 pairs set from mom and dad
A- T, G-C
Adenine
Thyme
Guanine
Cytosine
DNA
Made of many nucleotide
Mitosis vs meiosis
Growth repair and replace
Sex cells- gamètes
Homologous
Same gene in same place
Mutation
Change to DNA during replication
Displacement
Difference in distance has direction
Force
Push pull twist allows objects to Accelerate Decelerate Change direction Change speed
Three newtons law
1) objects shall remain rested till force applied (inertia)
Objects remain in constant speed till force changes it
2) something will happen is force is applied, will accelerate depending on mass of object F=ma
3) every action force there is an equal and opposite reaction force
