Attitude
Ideas charged with emotion that produce specific behaviour to a specific behaviour
Socialisation
Process where cultural values are learnt by associating with others
We learn from significant others when the information is reinforced or repeated
Triadic model
Cognitive- your beliefs and thoughts eg . a belief in exercise benefits
Affective- your feelings or emotional responses eg. Enjoying training
Behavioural- your actions or intended behaviour eg. Training three times a week
Attitudes can be positive or negative

Attitude change 2 concepts
Cognitive dissonance - new information gives to the performer to cause unease and motivate change. Dissonance means to create some conflict, this is settled when attitudes are aligned and discomfort /conflict resolved. Can be used in different ways. Using to promote positive behaviour with rewards. Give new information to create opinions. Bring in role models to promote the topic. Cognitive dissonance refers to a situation involving conflicting attitudes, beliefs or behaviors. This produces a feeling of mental discomfort leading to an alteration in one of the attitudes, beliefs or behaviors to reduce the discomfort and restore balance.
Persuasive communication-persuasive communication addresses the audience’s needs, values and desires. Audiences respond better to persuasive communication when they feel the person speaking is similar to them in some way, whether it’s in age, occupation or socio-economic status.
