Keep your speed down

In dry conditions, leave a 2 second gap.
In wet conditions, leave a 4 second gap.
What should you do if another driver cuts in front of you?
Drop back to maintain correct separation distance.
When should you dip your lights?
When following another vehicle or meeting another vehicle.
What brake should you use when queuing in traffic at night?
Your handbrake! Keeping your foot on the brake could dazzle drivers behind you.
On a pelican crossing, what does a flashing amber light mean?
- Give way to pedestrians on the crossing
- Dont move until the crossing is clear
How does a puffin crossing work?
They use the green and red man (normal traffic lights) and only go green when the person has reached a safe point
What does a diamond sign with the number 30 in it mean?
Only for trams! Give motorcyclists and cyclists extra room when there are tram lines, as they can be slippery.
What should you do if a large vehicle is trying to overtake you?
Slow down and let them pass.
When should you flash your headlights?
Only to show other road users that you’re there.
Why is diesel fuel particularly dangerous when spilt?
It’s super slippery.
What does tailgating mean?
When a driver follows the vehicle in front too closely.
