Explain the function of ATP
A
Stored energy is broken down into glucose and then made into ATP because no cellular process needs as much energy as glucose provides

A
ATP + water=ADP + Pi + energy
ATP-ADP is a hydrolysis reaction and is catalysed by ATP hydrolase
ADP-ATP is a condensation reaction and is catalysed by ATP synthase
This reaction is referred to as phosphorylation
