CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION OF ANTIBIOTICS:

  1. lowest conc. of antimicrobial agent which inhibits
    bacterial growt
  2. lowest conc. of antimicrobial agent that kills bacteria
when subcultures in a fresh medium
  3. lowest conc. of antibiotic needed to kill bacterial growth
  4. cutoff point
    - normal dosage
    - higher dosage
    - not responding
A
  1. Minimum Inhibitory Concentration
  2. Minimal Lethal Concentration
  3. Minimum Bactericidal Concentration
