Assessment RBT Flashcards
Operational definitions
describe the concepts in a manner that anyone can see and measure.
A good operational definition should be:
objective: observable aspects of behavior (hitting) not unobservable internal states (frustration)
clean: a person who has never seen the behavior can “act it out” from the definition.
complete: includes all the information necessary for you to discriminate between the behavior and the other behavior that similar but do not count.
Private event
is a behavior that can’t be observed mechanically or by another person.
Public event
is a behavior that can be observed
Preference assessment
are observations or trial-based evaluation that allow practitioners to determine a preference hierarchy of reinforcements.
Free operant
contrived
- ask the target person
- asking significant other
naturalistic
-observe in natural environment
Trial-based
single stimulus
paired stimuli
multiple stimuli
multiple stimuli with replacement and without
single stimulus
present one item at a time to the learner and record whether he interacted with it or makes no response to it.
paired stimuli
present a pair of possible reinforcers then, allow the learner to only choose one and record the percentage that item was chosen.
multiple stimuli without replacement
(WSWO) after the learner chooses an item, that item is not placed in the array of items when presenting the next trial.
multiple stimuli with replacement
(WSM) all the items except the one the leaner chose are replace
The function of problem behavior
The function of a behavior is the reason people behave in a certain way.
Positive Reinforcement
-getting something
Negative Reinforcement
-getting out of something
Narrative ABC data
you write down happens immidiately before and after the beahavior
Structured ABC data
A data sheet that has specific categories of antecedents, behavior, and consequences
FBA and intervention
when the function of a problem behavior has been identified, intervention can consist of
alterning antecedent variable
alterning consequence variable
teaching alternative behavior
