410 territory

A

1) proceed at restricted speed
2) Report malfunction to 204 ASAP
3) get authorization to cut out the ASC
4) proceed not exceeding 40 mph approaching the next interlocking signal prepared to stop
5) A train must not leave an interlocking and enter 410 territory without receiving an aspect of absolute clear, absolute medium clear, absolutes slow clear or flashing slow approach, unless authorized by 241 verbal authority or Form L
6) trains with the cab signal indicator or warning device in operative, upon receiving an aspect of absolute clear, absolute medium clear, absolute slow clear or flashing slow approach will proceed in accordance with the signal indication, not exceeding 40 mph, approaching the next interlocking single prepared to stop
7) multiple unit trains only, with the cab signal indicator and warning device operative, upon reaching the aspect of absolute clear, absolute medium clear, absolute slow clear or flashing slow approach will proceed in accordance with the signal indication and thereafter be governed by the cab signal indicator not exceeding 60 mph
8) if the brakes will not release due to the malfunction, cut out the ASC and proceed at restricted speed being governed by the preceding paragraphs
9) upon completion of trip, remove the ASCDT-1 slip from the cab of locomotive

409 territory

A

1) Cut out the ASC
2) proceed, governed by fixed the signal indication, not exceeding 40 mph for diesel and 30 mph for multiple unit and push pull trains.
3) Report malfunction to 204 ASAP do not delay train
4) when authorized by the train dispatcher to the block operator multiple unit trains only with the cab signal indicator and warning device operative, may proceed in accordance with the cab signal indication and fixed signals, not exceeding 60 mph
5) upon completion of trip, remove the ASCDT-1 slip from the cab of locomotive

ASC malfunctions

A

1) in rule 409 territory, a conflict of the cab signal indicator and two fixed signals in succession.
2) failure of the ASC warning device to sound when the cab signal indicator changes to a more restrictive indication.
3) continuous flipping of the cab signal indicator
4) in operative speedometer on the following diesel locomotives E-10 E-15 E-20
5) failure of the acknowledging device to operate
6) in operative ATC light on the console of the cab and in operative blue light on the exterior of the car on multiple unit equipment, a cab car unit or DE/DM Engine.
7) dark cab signal indicator. Dark Signal indicator refers only to small speed indicating lights around the speedometer dial. A failure of the lamp illuminating the speedometer does not constitute a failure.
8) Seal broken, except as provided by rules 400 or 405
9) Break application, which will not release until the ASC is cut out
10) in rule 410 territory, a cab signal indicator which remains at 15 for an excessive length of time.
11) failure of the penalty feature
12) failure of the ASC to cut in when entering speed control territory.
