Arthrographic Studies Flashcards
contrast media study of synovial joints and related soft tissue structures
arthrography
common form of imagingthat requires an image receptor, a lead diaphragm, low small table or stand to support the anatomical part, a firm pillow and a 5 lb sandbag
horizontal-beam radiography
basic arthrogram tray required for contrast injection and preparation of the injection site
accesspry equipment
usually the method of choice in knee arthrography
dual-contrast
visualizees major knee structures of interest including the joint capsule, menisci, collateral cruciate and other minor ligaments through the introduction of contrast medium into the joint capsure with fluoroscopic spot filming and or conventional radiographic filiming or with digiatal fluorscopy
knee arthrography
visualized the joint capsule, rotator cuff, long tendon of the biceps muscles, and articular cartilage
shoulder arthrography
