Arm (Superficial and Bone) Flashcards
Olecranon
posterior point of elbow formed by ulna entering olecranon fossa
Trochlea
“Pulley” like process on anteromedial elbow where ulna meets humerus
Capitulum
Where cup-shaped radius meets anterolateral elbow.
radial collateral ligament
Attaches the humerus to both the radius and ulnar
Ulnar collateral ligament
Made up of anterior, posterior, oblique band. Ulnar to humerus medially.
Annular ligament
Allows head of radius to rotate during pronation of hand
interosseous membrane
Membrane between radius and ulna, transmitting force from one bone to the other
Ulna
Medial lower arm bone, makes up elbow
Deep Fascia of Limb
Prox to Dist. Pectoral Fascia Axillary Fascoa Brachial Fascia Antebrachial Fascia Palmar, thenar, and hypothenar fascia
Not very elastic. Inflammation or edema can compress vessels
Upper arm Anterior fascial component
Musculocutanous Nerve
Flexor muscles
Brachial artery
Upper arm Posterior fascial compartment
Radial Nerve
Extensor Muscles
Deep brachial artery
Lower arm anterior fascia compartments
Extensor muscles
radial nerve
posterior interosseous artery
Lower arm posterior fascia components
Medial nerve (mostly) Flexor Radial, Ulnar, Anterior interosseous arteries
