Who are the Bedouins?
The Bedouins are a semi-nomadic community, with the majority of them living in the Negev (lower Israel) 19 recognized communities.
What issues do the Bedouins have with the State?
Legally conceptualized as rootless nomads leading to the denial of land and ownership rights
Why is land important to the Bedouins?
Land is a status symbol (no land, harder to get married)
What is the state doing to Bedouins?
forcing settlement and modernization, nationalizing bedouin land for Israel to create Jewish towns and secure land/resource rights

Who are the Druze?
The Druze have no national movement of their own.
What is different about the Druze?
The Druze are the only PAI to have mandatory military conscription. They separate themselves from the Arab identity and pledge allegiance and loyalty to the state of Israel. They have separate school systems.

81% live in Haifa, 19% live in the North
