What section of the Criminal Code of Canada addresses animal welfare?
Section 445 - “every one commits an offence who WILFULLY and without lawful excuse…”
(endangering or injuring other animals)
Can a person be charged for animal abuse if “they didn’t know”
“I didn’t know” = not wilful = not criminal (given section 445 states “WILFULL”)
