establish relationships of trust with those we work with, uphold professional standards; consult with others; engage in pro bono work

all persons are entitled to benefit from the work of psychology; acknowledge biases and boundaries of competence
explain respect for people’s rights and dignity principle
respect all people including their right to confidentiality, privacy, and self-determination; respect individual differences; recognize special safeguards may be necessary to protect rights and welfare of people
explain the first four parts of section 1 resolving ethical issues
1) correct or minimize when your work has been misused or misrepresented
2) if ethical work conflicts with law, make the responsibility to behave ethically clear, and try and resolve conflict
3) if ethical work conflicts with organizational demands, make the responsibility to behave ethically clear, and try and resolve the conflict
4) if you observe another psychologist commit an ethical violation, try and resolve it with them

1) boundaries of competence: understand and acknowledge the boundaries of your competence (do not teach or practice outside of your competence boundary); but continue to grow your competence, especially when it comes to cultural things
2) you can provide services in emergencies even if you do not have the necessary training, so as to not deny services
3) continue to develop and maintain competence

1) appropriately complete, store, and destroy records retaining to clients
2) make sure records are kept in locked and confidential places
3) cannot withhold emergency records, even if payment has been withheld
4) reach an agreement ASAP on payment, be transparent and law abiding, if legal measures for payment collection are to be used must inform client first
5) can barter if it is not exploitative and causes clinical damage
6) accurately report the services being provided
7) when splitting payments with another provider, make sure it is done in a fair way
explain section 7 education and training (7 parts)
1) ensure that programs provide the correct and appropriate information
2) ensure that there is an accurate description of the program
3) ensure syllabi are accurate and the information you are teaching is accurate
4) do not require students to share personal information
5) when therapy is required in programs, individuals providing evals cannot give that therapy
6) provide timely feedback and accurate feedback based on performance
7) do not engage in sexual relationships with students or supervisees
