- Apprehension, worry, irritability, difficulty concentrating
- Somatic complaints: cardiac- tachy, HTN, GI, HA, near syncope

- Onset under 35
- 3-5% population
- W>M
- Alcohol abuse
- Correlation with OCD

- Short lived, recurrent, unpredictable episodes of intense anxiety
- Marked physiologic manifestations (dyspnea, tachycardia, palpitations)
- Sleep panic attacks
- Freq go to ED for MI sx

- Global (agoraphobia) or specific (heights)
- Chronic
