Basic terrorist threat types
- 1 or more outsiders with no access to base
- Individual/group with access
- disgruntled employee
- individual/group making political statement
- individual seeking access to base to commit act of violence
Terrorism
Calculated use of unlawful violence or threat of unlawful violence to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, ideological
Counter terrorism
To deter terrorism via defensive and offensive techniques and maneuvers, potential threats, report to COG, sound alarm, take immediate action to protect personnel and DOD assets

FPCON ALPHA
Applies when there is an increased General threat of possible terrorist activity against personnel/facilities, nature and extent of which are unpredictable
FPCON BRAVO
Applies when an increased of more predictable threat of terrorist activity exists
FPCON CHARLIE
Applies when an incident occurs or intelligence is received indicating some form of terrorist action or targeting against personnel or facilities is likely
FPCON DELTA
Applies in the immediate area where a terrorist attack has occurred of when intelligence is received that terrorist action against a specific location or person is immensnt
FPCON NORMAL
Applies when a general global threat of possible terrorist activity exists and warrant a routine security posture
