A
- hypercholesterolemia
- MOA: binds bile acids increasing production of bile acids from cholesterol, decreases LDL
- side effects: constipation, abdominal discomfort, pancreatitis, bloating

- hypertriglyceridemia
- MOA: poorly understood, decreases VLDl, increases HDL
- side effects: vasodilation, flushing, hepatotoxicity, hyperglycemia, hyperuricemia

gemfibrozil, fenofibrate

- hypertriglyceridemia, mild effect to increase HDL and decrease LDL
- MOA: activate PPAR-alpha and increase lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and decrease TGs
- side effects: rhabdomyolysis (esp if gemfibrozil given with statin) increased LFTs, gallstones

- lovastatin, simvastatin, pravastatin, atorvastatin, rosuvastatin
- hypercholesteremia
- MOA: HMG co-A reductase inhibitor, decrease LDL
- side effects: muscle aches, rhabdomyolysis, hepatitis

- MOA: antibodies that block effect of PCSK9 to break down LDL receptors
- side effects: memory problems?
