Inhibit Phospholipase A2, :: lowering Arachidonic Acid

– Suppress COX (1 & 2) and LOX synthesis

  • :: < Prostaglandins and leukotrienes

What are the anti inflammatory effects of glucocorticoids?

A
  • decreased CMI
  • < pyrogenic respence to inflamm (breaks fever)
  • decreased accumulation of macrophages at site of inflamm (chronic inflamm)
  • > circulating neutrophils; < tissue neutrophils (hindering acute inflamm)
  • *Anti inflamm stuff:**
  • < vasodilation
  • < tissue damage
  • < formation of prostaglandins
