What happens when you turn on the nacelle anti-ice switches ON
- Associated NAI valve opens
- Engine PRV opens when the NAI valve is open
- Selected Igniters operate Continuously
- A display of NAI will appear besides the associated EICAS N1 display
What conditions would prevent the PRV from opening when nacelle anti-ice is on
- a prior or present bleed air overheat
Or - the start valve is not closed
Or - the engine bleed HP valve is failed open
With the Nacelle Anti-Ice Switches in AUTO during icing conditioned, while on the ground, prior to takeoff, would the system be on or off
- OFF
- Auto system only operates while airborne
If in the NAI AUTO position, with the anti ice valves open at touchdown when do the valves close
Valves remain open until engine shutdown
How many ice detection probes are there and where are they located?
Two, L and R fwd fuselage
- only in flight not on ground
If the engine bleed air valve is closed and nacelle anti-ice is commanded what is the source of bleed air nacelle anti-ice
IPV - Intermediate pressure valve
Is wing anti ice affective with the leading edge flaps extended
NO
Can you operate the wing anti ice system on the ground

What is displayed on the primary EICAS when the nacelle anti-ice and/or the wing anti-ice valve is open?
WAI is displayed near the respective wing’s N1 display
NAI is displayed near the respective wings N1 display
Describe the flight deck window heating systems
- all flight deck windows are electrically heated (resistance coatings)
- all windows are provided with internal surface heating for anti fog
- The forward windows have external surface heating to provide anti ice protection
- there is also WSHLD AIR switch for each windshield (on capt aux panel and FO aux panel) uses air from AC system to aid defogging
Which windows heating system is controlled by window heat switches
Forward (L&R) Windshields (anti ice and anti fogging)
Since the forward windshields are controlled by the window heat switches how are the side windows heated
Automatically electrically heated (electrical resistance coatings)
How many static probes are provided and when are they heated
4 pitot static probes electrically heated when any engine (gen) is operating
