Older generation drug
Often seen in combination therapy OTC cold medications
Along with adrenergics, cough suppressants, and analgesics
Taken orally, either in liquid or pill form
Commonly used for allergic reactions at home or in the hospital
newer generations
cause less CNS depression
loratidine (claritin)
brompheniramine (dimetapp)
decreased effects
