How would a patient with anterior uveitis usually present?
A
- acute onset
- ocular pain
- small, irregular pupil due to sphincter muscle contraction
- photophobia
- blurred vision
- red eye
- lacrimation
- ciliary flush: a ring of red spreading outwards
- hypopyon; pus and inflammatory cells in the anterior chamber
- visual acuity initially normal then becomes impaired

Management of anterior uveitis
A
- urgent ophthalmology r/v
- Atropine/cyclopentolate to dialte pupil and relieve pain
- Steroid eye drops
