Early scan - why is this important?

Detects multiple pregnancies
Nuchal translucency: chromosome abnormalities (downs, edwards, pataus)

Urine culture FBC Antibody screen serology for syphilis Rubella Offer HIV + Hep B USS Screen for schromosomal abnormalities Hb electrophoresis
