purpose of sustainment gunnery training. X-II
It is designed to evaluate the crew’s ability to function in a CBRN environment. The table is fired in MOPP condition 4 with every vehicle hatch buttoned.
When conducting initial gunnery exercise 3 the task is to engage _______ targets. The conditions are that you will be given _______ shot(s) per target with the VAD and engage targets in numerical order starting from the _______ circle, the standards are to hit 4 of 5 ____ targets with in the center mass circle and 4 of 5 ______ targets within the 6 o’clock circle within _______ seconds in order to receive a GO.
10, one, zero, HE, AP, 30.
LCE prerequisites
- Is either a MOS 0313 corporal or sergeant vehicle commander

Unqualified
Unqualified = Untrained (U) on four or more engagements or (U) on both CBRN engagements and (T) or (P) on only one night engagement.
Table V Standards:
The crew must achieve a minimum of a
“P” rating on seven of nine engagements with one of the seven being a CBRN engagement and two of the seven being night engagements. Must receive a qualified rating.
table II T C Stand
Task. Engage and destroy stationary and moving targets from a stationary and moving LAV-25 during the day and night.
Conditions. The crew is given a fully operational AGTS and a suitable maneuver and engagement area with sensor equipped thermalized targets in accordance with TC 25-8. During stadia engagements, the gunner will not use the ELRF.
Standards. The crew must achieve a minimum of a “P” rating on 9 out of the 12 engagements with 1 out of the 9 being a CBRN engagement and 3 out of the 9 being night engagements.o
Table 7 and 8 Rating
Distinguished. A combined score of 900 points or higher, which includes at least 350 tactical, 210 gunnery tasks, and 140 gunnery hit points at a minimum.
Superior. A combined score of between 800 and 899 points, which includes 350 tactical, 210 gunnery task, and 140 gunnery hit points at a minimum.
Qualified. A combined score of between 700 and 799 points, which includes 350 tactical, 210 gunnery task, and 140 gunnery hit points at a minimum.
Unqualified. A combined score of less than 700 points or less than 350 tactical, 210 gunnery tasks, or 140 gunnery hit points.
Table II Standards:
Standards. The crew must achieve a minimum of a “P” rating on 9 out of the 12 engagements with 1 out of the 9 being a CBRN engagement and 3 out of the 9 being night engagements.o
Task, Conditions and Standards Table V(Full Caliber)
Task. Engage and destroy stationary and moving targets from a stationary and moving LAV-25 during the day and night.
Conditions. The crew is given an LAV-25, authorized allocation of ammunition, and suitable live fire range with thermalized targets in accordance with TC 25-8. During stadia engagements, the gunner
will not use the ELRF.
Standards. The crew must achieve a minimum of a “P” rating on seven of nine engagements with one of the seven being a CBRN engagement and two of
the seven being night engagements. Must received a qualified rating.
Distinguished
Distinguished = Trained (T) on at least 9 of 10 total engagements with no untrained (U) scores.
When conducting initial gunnery exercise 2 the task is to engage five targets per _______. The conditions are that you will be given _______ shot per target, with the VAD, and the targets must be thermalized in accordance with _________. The standards are to hit 4 of ____ targets within _______ seconds per phase.
Phase, One, TC 25-8, 5, 15
You have a section that was assigned 15 gunnery task, mounted and dismounted. the section passed 11 task. the section was presented with 20 targets overall mounted and dismounted, they destroyed 13. the section was assigned 18 tactical task. they passed 15.
Gunnery task: 11/15= .73 = .73x300= 219
Gunnery hit: 13/20 =130 (table 10-4)
Tactical Task: 15/18=.83 x 500=415
219+130+415=764
What is table 10-4 utilized for during table 7 and 8?
Scoring Matrix 2
Task, Conditions and Standards Table VII(Full Caliber)
Task. Conduct a reconnaissance and/or security mission, and acquire, report, and employ accurate direct and indirect fire to engage targets in a tactical array.
Conditions. As part of a platoon, the section uses reconnaissance and engagement techniques against threat targets.
Standards. Engagement time standards are listed in table 10-3, on page 10-6, and the hit rate is evaluated with table 10-4, on page 10-7. Evaluation of tactical and gunnery tasks is accomplished with checklists.
Task, Conditions and Standards Table IV(Full Caliber)
Task. Engage and destroy stationary and moving targets from a stationary and moving LAV-25 during the day and night.
Conditions. The crew is given a LAV-25, authorized allocation of ammunition, and a suitable live fire range with thermalized targets in accordance with TC 25-8. During stadia engagements, the gunner
will not use the ELRF.
Standards. The crew must achieve a minimum of a “P” rating on seven out of nine engagements with one out of the seven being a CBRN engagement
and two out of the seven being night engagements.See table 9-4 for tasks, conditions, and targetry
How many tables in each phase of gunnery?
Initial Gunnery Exercise #1- AGTS Long range targets. Exercise #2- Precision Gunnery Manipulations. ( 3 phase conducted successively) Exercise #3- Battle Sight Gunnery Manipulations. Exercise #4- Range Determine Exercise.(3 phase conducted concurrently) Exercise #5- Target Acquisition Exercise Intermediate Gunnery Tables I-VI Advance Gunnery Tables VII-VIII Sustainment Gunnery Tables X-I and X-II
Qualified
Qualified = Trained (T) or needs practice (P) on 7 out of 10 engagements with 1 out of the 7 being a CBRN engagement and 2 out of the 7 being night engagements.
Table I-II allowable variations
When the moving targets are not available, replace them with stationary frontal targets.
To ensure that LAV-25 fire control systems are operational before full caliber qualification, the table may be fired using the full caliber ammunition
if it is available in the unit’s ammunition allocation. Modify the table to suit the needs of the unit based on the commander’s intent.
Table X-II T,C, Stan.
Task. Engage single and multiple vehicle and infantry targets.
Conditions. The exercise is conducted in MOPP-4, with all hatches buttoned, and from both a stationary and a moving vehicle.
Standards. The crew must achieve a minimum of a “P” rating on 7 of 9engagements and 2 of the 7 being night engagements
Superior
Superior = Trained (T) on 8 of 10 engagements with 1 of the 8 being a CBRN engagement and 2 of the 8
being night engagements
X-I Task Conditions and Stand.
Task. Employ direct fire adjustment techniques against stationary and moving targets.
Conditions. Using the M240 as the
subcaliber device, adjust fire from a first burst miss. Tasks are fired from a stationary LAV-25 against both stationary and moving targets using tracer ammunition.
Standards. The crewmembers will use the correct adjustment techniques and hit the target with the second Burst to meet the minimum standards. The crewmembers must receive a GO on each task in
order to receive a GO on sustainment firing table X-I.
Conduct. Master gunner or LCE induces error into the fire control sighting system prior to evaluating any crewmembers on sustainment firing table X-I.
The following are the appropriately scaled range sizes and range depths for the recommended subcaliber
devices.
LCE Re-certification is done when and how?
The LCEs should recertify yearly, by written examination.
Name the 5 exercises of initial gunnery ?
Exercise #1- AGTS Long range targets. Exercise #2- Precision Gunnery Manipulations.
Exercise #3- Battle Sight Gunnery Manipulations.
Exercise #4- Range Determine Exercise.
Exercise #5- Target Acquisition Exercise.
How long do we keep crew records and who keeps them?
The LAV-25 crew scoresheet will be
kept with the company and the battalion
master gunners for a period of 2 years.
