Metamerism
Structural body plan where it is differentiated into series of segments

Pair of nephridia (for excretion), Pair of coelomoducts (for reproduction), Pair of ganglia on dorsal nerve chord, pair of appendages
Advantages of Metamerism
Large animal from simple plan, Enables simple/complex movement, Loss of parts not fatal, open for specialization
Serial Homology
Specialization of appendages for different function even though they are derived from same body plan
Tagmatization
Groups of similiar metameres (specialized for certain function, most often referred to describe distinguished head, body, tail)
