Anatomy quiz Flashcards

1
Q

Tunica albuginea vs tunica vaginalis

A

T albuginea- fibrous tissue that overlies corpus spongiosum and corpora cavernosa of the penis

T vaginalis- tissue that remainvs overlying the testis and epididymis- leads to hydrocele if processus vaginalis does not obliterate

Q

Piriform recess

A

Small cavity on either side of laryngeal orifice
Surrounded medial by aryepiglottic folds and laterally by thyroid cartilage and thyrohyoid membrane

Underneath piriform recess is the Internal branch of the superior laryngeal nerve (CNX)

Sensory nerve for afferent limb of COUGH reflex

Carry sensation from the mucosa superior to the vocal cords

Q

Femoral nerve descend through which structure

A

Psoas major muscle- emerges laterally between psoas and iliacus muscle

Femoral nerve mononeuropathy happens due to trauma, compression from hematoma, abscess, stretch injury, ischemia

Weakness in quadriceps and weakening iliopsoas, reflex is deminished and they have difficulty with stairs. Also get “knee buckling” and sensory loss of anterior medial thight and medial leg.

17
Q

Low frequency hearing

A

Near helicotrauma of chochlea

18
Q

HIgh frequency hearing

A

Base of cochlea near oval and round window

19
Q

Body satiety center

A

ventromedial nucleus of hypothalamus

because you get fat in the ventral and medial portion of your body when VMN is lesioned

20
Q

Spinal cord level

A

Proximal is ovoid and increasing amounts of white matter

Thoracic and early lumbar T1-L2 has lateral grey matter horn
Lower cervical and lumbrosacral region have large ventral horns

21
Q

Bursitis from kneeling too much

A

Prepatellar bursitis

22
Q

Nerve near inferior thyroid artery

A

Recurrent laryngeal

23
Q

Superior thyroid artery is near which nerve

A

external branch of the Superior laryngeal nerve- innervates cricothyroid

internal branch= sensory above the vocal nerve

24
Q

Chorda Tympani

A

Branch of the facial nerve that does taste for anterior 2/3 of tongue
