anatomy Flashcards
hyoid bone
does not articulate with any other bones in the body
largest bone of the foot and forms heel of foot
calcaneus
Primary cartilaginous joints
found in bones joined by hyaline cartilage (e.g. long bone epiphyseal growth plates).
Secondary cartilaginous joints
strong, can move slightly and are joined by fibrocartilage (e.g. intervertebral discs).
kidneys
retroperitoneal
primary cartilaginous
growth plate of long bones eg femur
where does fertilisation normally occur
ampulla of uterine tube
Spermatozoa is produced in the
seminiferous tubules- NOT TESTES
layers of heart
(External)Fibrous Pericardium > Parietal Serous pericardium > Epicardium (visceral pericardium) > Myocardium > Endocardium (Internal)
fibrous
interosseous membranes and sutures of skull
lesser sac
a potential space within the peritoneal cavity that is found anterior to the pancreas and posterior to the stomach
Greater sac
- Larger portion of the peritoneal cavity
- It is further divided into two compartments by the mesentery of the transverse colon
Greater omentum:
descends from the greater curvature of the stomach and proximal part of the duodenum, then folds back up and attaches to the anterior surface of the transverse colon
Lesser omentum:
attaches from the lesser curvature of the stomach and the proximal part of the duodenum to the liver
stomach
an organ supplied by an anastomotic ring of arteries derived from the coeliac trunk
