Sickle Cell Anaemia Definition

A

A condition that causes the sickling of the red blood cells, therefore reducing their oxygen-carrying capacity. It can also cause them to become quite sticky, so it is more likely that a blood clot may be formed. This can create tissue hypoxia and pain.
